The new solo project Ephemera Veil, led by pianist and singer of the band Tisíc Viet, Alexandra Cisárová, makes its debut with the album MomentuM. Expressive piano lines are enriched by delicate guitar solos from Jimi Cimbala, who also produced the album.
Alex first entered the music scene on YouTube sharing her piano renditions of songs by Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and others.
Deeply personal and atmospheric debut is built on honesty, reflection and musical exploration.
“The entire album is a celebration of freedom and personal choice—whether good or bad, impulsive or carefully considered—including a sense of responsibility, reflection, acceptance. All of this unfolds between the first and last track—2 contrasting natural elements: Mountain—majestic and mysterious—and Mighty River—unpredictable and ever in motion.”
Across 11 tracks the album captures Alex’s inner thoughts and mirrors life experiences. Built primarily around piano and voice, the compositions are layered with guitar textures and rhythmic structures. The music blends memorable melodies with unexpected harmonic shifts—songs feel immediate yet reward deeper listening.
“For me, the piano sound and unusual harmonies—sometimes slightly dissonant—are essential. They help express feelings and changing moods—just like in life, where things are rarely simple or straightforward. Rhythm is another playground for me, with shifting meters, odd time signatures and polyrhythms, where my hands weave contrasting patterns.”
